Sorry, we've had mail problems here today. Probably leftover gremlins from last week's power outage.

Anyway, I don't have an answer for David Gary's questions (see below) except that when you install various browser, they each try to make their own products the default for all your internet needs, including mail, news and web access. If you have installed IE, then install NS, your later install of NS will reset your defaults in ways you might not want. Same thing if you have NS installed then install IE.

What it sounds like, based on your description, is that your default mail program was changed to Netscape Messenger from whatever program was being used prior to installing NS. You may also find that your default program for opening HTML files is now Netscape Navigator as well. You can modify this default using the Windows Explorer's View Options settings, but the exact steps are beyond me right now (check your Windows manual).

What you're encountering is not something Flash has any control over. We simply tell your OS to use whatever the default mail program is to send mail; it's up to your configuration to go from there.

Im trying to understand why Netscape messenger executes navigator. Does anyone know? Is there a way around this?

What is the purpose of this? Why would NS programmers apply this? Why, if the visitor wants to email my client from IE3.0, must they have to close out an executed Navigator window? Is this a "mailto" or "from flash" proto prob or a simple hint from NS proggers to use NS?
