There are several ways to send or communicate with script externally.

    FS Command

    JavaScript: Protocol 

    Hidden frame in HTML (which can play a midi or JavaScript function).

    Targeted window

    Server side page which can play a script.

For Flash 4 there is built in Send Variables actions which can send

variables via GET or POST.
