After tracing the images, are you deleting them from Flash's library?

Flash's strength lies in its handling of *vector-based* images.

The "resize issue" that you seem to be seeing sounds illusory. It sounds to me
as if you aren't doing something "properly" ...

... unless, of course, you have some very complex bitmaps whose "integrity" you
are attempting to preserve "*within* Flash". When you find yourself within this
sort of territory, it *can* turn out that (highly detailed) bitmap traces turn
out, after being converted to vector shapes, to occupy more memory than the
original bitmap (though, remember, bitmaps are not as eloquently handled (e.g.,
*scaled*) as well as vector-driven images).

HUH? What do you mean by "disallow the 'menu'"? I see no such option ...
