Subject: Re: FLASH: Raster to vector-dk

In response to unique:

I have tried deleting them from the library.... and the 1MB size was after deleting them.

What I mean by the "resizing issue", is how a BMP pixelizes when scaling. And yes... the BMP images are complex and I am trying to preserve them. And in this case, the file sizes are much higher when tracing to a BMP.

And as for the "disallow menu" option I was speaking about...
If you go into the publish options (flash 4)

file>publish settings> HTML tab

there are some playback options, and if you uncheck the "display menu" option... well, once your SWF file is published and is viewed through the HTML template.... it takes all of the zoom and scaling options away from the right click menu. So then no one can resize or scale your graphics. This is just a way to ensure that anyone viewing a project that has BMP based graphics, can't scale it and give it a pixelized look.

Hope this clarifies everything.

Thanks.

After tracing the images, are you deleting them from Flash's library?

Flash's strength lies in its handling of *vector-based* images.

The "resize issue" that you seem to be seeing sounds illusory. It sounds to me
as if you aren't doing something "properly" ...

... unless, of course, you have some very complex bitmaps whose "integrity" you
are attempting to preserve "*within* Flash". When you find yourself within this
sort of territory, it *can* turn out that (highly detailed) bitmap traces turn
out, after being converted to vector shapes, to occupy more memory than the
original bitmap (though, remember, bitmaps are not as eloquently handled (e.g.,
*scaled*) as well as vector-driven images).

HUH? What do you mean by "disallow the 'menu'"? I see no such option ...
