Subject: FLASH: Quicktime issues!

Jeez,

It's been a long time since posting, but I haven't had any Flash projects
come my way either, so there we are...

Anyway, I'm dyin'. I've compiled 3 15-20 sec clips together for a kiosk.
It's all full screen presentation QT so it's heavy on the draw. Two of the
clips are Flash exported QTs (Flash 4 authoring environment) and one After
Effects QT. All three were then subsequently reimported into Flash as QT
with simple segues between the three.

The compiled movie plays excellently on my simple B/W G3 400 mhz using QT
4.12 AND now with QT 5 preview. Any other machine in this office, a variety
of G4s and even the target B/W G3 crunches when it gets to the Flash track,
particularly my contribution (it's an efficient file...the swf and projector
both play perfectly.)

I worked efficiently, using tidy MCs and controlling them properly. The
other Flash user has an ungodly amount of layers and sound all over the
place with shape tweens and no mcs and lots of repeated non-symbols...just
not efficient. BUT, IT plays better on the other computers than mine does,
which I just don't get.

Does the QT player have issues with mc behavior or something? And if so,
then why would a G4 have crunchy issues, but my lowly B/W have absolutely no
problem.

Although the After Effects designer (feeling sorry for me) did just come and
told me that if all else fails, he's going to recreate his in Flash so that
we can just use simple full screen projectors, so this all may just be a
moot point. I'm just all kinds of distressed!
