Hi Ken, I saw your post and had to respond. like Nick, I was waiting for
a link too.

I'm anxious for more experimentation. I, for one, would encourage anybody
to try new things. Chances are that if you get really risky, that most of
your concepts will fail, at least initially. The benefit though is that if
you can generate enough interest, you might inspire new ideas for
others. At least perhaps for yourself?

The fact is that most people who are mastering Flash right now are doing it
at the behest of clients and naturally we put their needs first. The
problem is that, in this sort of conservative environment, the medium of
Flash (as an expression) will evolve slowly and narrowly and ironically it
will be us and our clients who ultimately suffer.

Unfortunately, Flash being somewhat inaccessible to traditional creative
types, we don't get the full-on benefits of those whose mentalities are
more geared towards pushing the design envelope.

Is is a major concern? no, because basically it is a void and whether we
like it or not somebody's going to fill it. on the other hand it might as
well be you and it might as well start happening now.

What is the alternative? Let it rest and continue to make vector boxes that
are programmatically amazing yet stunted design wise or start taking some
risks?

Jeepers. I'm writing this nervous at the that you felt compelled to seek
permission. For cripes sake, if you are motivated, let all hell break
loose and break ever freakin' rule in the book.

It's chaos, but imho, this is how the most significant human
accomplishments happen. design wise or any other wise.

It may be a design disaster, but there is no way you can come out of
without advancing your style and knowledge at least a little. And the
added bonus is that lordy lordy lordy the environmental cost is
unbelievably low. G'damn I love Flash.

please rock our world.
