Subject: FLASH: Printing Artifact Problem
From: Kevin Huisman

I have a graphically complex flash movie that includes print
functionality. On the Mac, it's fine, but on the PC when using Internet
Explorer, after the print dialogue is gone, there are artifacts, and
general display problems within the flash movie. (I haven't been able to
recreate it on Netscape for the PC, so I'm assuming that it is a single
browser issue)

I believe it is a refresh problem inside IE. If you right click on the
movie, and use flash's controls to zoom in on the movie, then zoom back
out, it corrects itself.

Of course, it exhibits the properties of my favorite kind of error
<sigh>: it doesn't happen every time you try to print, but often enough
to prevent it's release to the public.

I've inserted a movie clip that completely covers the artwork in the
movie for one frame after the printing has taken place to try to force it
to refresh. This works about half the time. (IOW, it's better, but not
solved)

Can anyone confirm this? Have you had the same/similar problem with that
browser/platform configuration while printing?

Any other ideas to try to correct this would be most appreciated.
