Thanks for your suggestion Paul!
I agree...BMP's are no fun in Flash.

Just wondering if you can help me.
My .swf file is 1MB big (too big I know-problem is the
graphics). As
you
have guessed it really takes forever to download.
After optimising the
file
it's still too big.
I have made a 2-frame preloader that works fine...all
I have to do now
is
preload it sensibly
any suggestions...?

Yes, I have a suggestion. USE VECTOR GRAPHICS!!! Ok,
so just in case you are using vectors and not nasty
bitmaps (evil!), then try breaking your movie up and
using "Load Movie" command. Just load in a simple
movie that gives them something to look at, then try
to figure out if there is part of the movie that can
load faster than everything else. In your first
simple, ALL VECTOR movie, tell it to load the larger
movie and then in the larger movie use "If frame is
loaded" to see if it has loaded the frame that you
need people to see first. Then send them to that frame
and send the first movie to a black frame. You can do
this type of thing for several movies.
Just write me if you need help with Load Movie.
