I did try emptying the library, as I stated before, but it didn't help. I
am more baffled that trying to optimize it created so much of a larger doc.

Yes, an animated gif would be easier, if I didn't need to incorporate it
as a very small part of a 3 minute fully animated presentation (loaded with
images and only 130K). I guess I am trying to find a simple solution to an
insolvable problem, at least for the time being.

I just don't understand why a .png image of the same size as a .pict image
ends up being only a fraction of the final size.
