Subject: FLASH: Load Movie help

Hello,

I've got a few questions about using Load Movie.

We will be handing off multiple packages of content that all share the same
format, which is a standard Intro with a menu to choose parts A and/or B of
each package. Here's how it should work:

Clicking a link on the client's site causes the Intro to play, and it ends
with a menu where you choose to play 1A or 1B. Clicking the next link on
the client's site causes the same Intro to play, with a menu where you
choose to see 2A or 2B. Next link, same Intro, choose 3A or 3B.......

Question 1: The Intro is the same in each package and I would like it to
play from cache after the first time it's downloaded, so I assume I should
make it a separate SWF and use LoadMovie. I know that my browser checks to
see if a page is in cache before it starts downloading. Does a LoadMovie
command in an SWF also cause the browser to check the cache before it
starts to download an SWF?

Question 2: Since the user can choose either part A or B from the menu,
and they are both long downloads, I assume I should also make them separate
SWF's so that they can load in the order that the user chooses them. But
since the user may spend a long time on the menu in the Intro, I want to
start preloading part A (it's the most likely choice). So if I LoadMovieA
while the user is looking at the menu, and then they choose B instead and a
LoadMovieB action executes, will A stop loading? Or will it continue to
load and I need to do something to make it stop? Is this a good strategy?

Question 3: In general, if I have content on my Level0 timeline and issue
a LoadMovie Level1 in the middle of that content, does the content on
Level0 continue to load and share the available bandwidth with the new
movie loading on Level1, or does it stop until Level1 finishes, or
something else?

Thanks fro the help,

Dave
