I think your only error is the statement:

Set Property ("/instatic", Alpha) = "x"

should be

Set Property ("/instatic", Alpha) = x

But I would also change the >= 0 to just > zero, because I don't think Alpha
can be less than zero & it might trip it up there.

I found that the fade was much too quick this way, but acceptable if you add
40 frames or so....

Oh, and 100% is totally opaque, 0% is transparent. :-)
