1. SQL = Search and Query Language (works for querying almost any dB)

2. ASP = Active Server Pages (scripting for IIS which is Windows basically;
written with numerous languages but usually vBscript. Parallel to
relationship of CGI and PERL)

You usually embed SQL in your ASP or CGI to run against the dB in order to
populate your recordSets or to make quick updates. Kind of how you'd embed
snippets of HTML if you wanted to dynamically generate an HTML page.

Subject: FLASH: SQL/ASP?

I am reading questions that seem to equate SQL and ASP. Is SQL one form
of ASP?

I thought ASP was a WIN NT only dynamic database query and page
generating system.

I thought SQL was for Unix...

Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks

Jeff
