Don't worry, I've worked it out. And in case anyone wants to know, you can't
have a device font text field in a masked layer. Flash can't hide and unhide
system text. Oh well, workaround time!

Subject: [flasher] Wierd Text thing
Hi all,
I'm having a little trouble with a couple of simple Static text fields (in
Arial font). They are in an MC and appear at a certain frame. I want them to
appear as device fonts. However, whenever I turn device font on the text
becomes invisible when I publish (can see them fine when authoring). If I
leave it off, the text is there but all antialiased which is what I don't
want. I've tried setting them to dynamic text, no joy. I have a dynamic text
field on the main timeline which appears fine.
Any ideas?
Dirk
