It is a bit confusing. You are correct about the parent movie at

_level0 is the one in charge. Think of it as the main floor in an

apartment building. The movies it loads to levels are the upper floors.

_Level1=first floor, _Level2=second floor. etc. And the viewer of this

flash creation is looking down on the building from above. If you think

of the floors as made of glass and anything put on the floor as the art

or type, you will see that a rug placed on the 10th floor (_level 10)

will cover up and make invisible a chair or a table on floors 9 through

0 (_llevel0 through 9)

	Now movie clips are the children of the movie in which they are placed.

You can have nested movie clips too, so that a movie could have children

and grandchildren and great grand children, etc. That means a movie clip

(child movie clip) on the timeline of the main movie can contain other

movie clips on its timeline that would be the grandchildren and those

grandchildren can in turn contain movie clips  and those would be the

great grandchildren.
