FLASH: coding

When coding your flash swf file .....I noticed most recommend using Java

script.....before I've been using Macromedia Dreamweaver to place the swf

and then code the rest in notepad.....does anyone recommend any other way

to make sure the file runs in all browsers?  Secondly.....I noticed that

when I dropped the swf file in dreamweaver...the codebase tag that referred

back to macromedia was in version 2.0 would that affect the movie..how can

I change the tag to version 3.0
