Thanks Marc
The diagram I'm using doesn't trace well into the sections I needed.
Kalle suggested I use an invisible button in the HIT frame and that worked
as well. I set up a new button, copied the image to the HIT frame of one
layer, inserted a new layer - placed a keyframe in the HIT frame and
paintbrushed in the contour. Then dumped the layer with the picture.
That worked well. I'll put the project up for review when I'm finished but
its directed at dentists so the content is esoteric. It is my first real
project
BTW on a p266 with a 56K connection, the music was erratic and choppy with a
clicking sound. The music on/off button seemed to have a delay. THe
graphics and concept were GREAT!
Thanks
Larry

|
|it sounds as if you're trying to make a button just by selecting a graphic
|symbol and setting its instance behavior to Button. Instead you should
|create a new symbol defined as a button. You can put the graphic inside it
|and use it to trace a solid fill for the Hit frame. ELiminate all other
|graphics from that frame. If you eliminate all graphics from Up, Over, and
|Down, the button will be invisible.
|
|In your case, start backwards: copy the diagram to a new layer. Break it
|apart so it's not a symbol. Select each part and use F8 to make it a
|button. Then edit the button so it has only the hit area. Now it's
|invisible and overlays the diagram. This won't work if the diagram's a
|photo, but you can trace it in that case.
