What you want to create is what is known as a continuous feedback button...
They are actually really easy to create...
First of all, create your button.. then place it into an MC...
now add two more frames after the first keyframe... this is your button
layer.
Now, create a new layer, this is your actions layer.
On the first frame of the actions layer add a STOP action.
Now, on the second frame add the action you want to do, and on the third
frame add a goto action... GOTO Frame 2 and PLAY

Now just open the properties of your button and on roll over tell it to goto
frame 2 and play. THen add another mouse event action, on roll out. Inside
here place, goto frame 1 and stop.

Thats it!

just place this button where ever you need it and it will keep doing the
action you specified in frame 2 until you roll outside of the buttons hit
area.

Sorry for the repost, if anyone has any advice, whether it is possible or
not to do the functionality described below (in Flash) please respond,
thanks Jonny

Hey everybody. Im trying to make an interactive map of the world so i can
show pictures of some of the places ive been. What im going for is to show
a section of the map(its much to big to show all at once) and if you move
your mouse near one edge of the map it will scroll the map in that
direction.

There is an exact example(albiet done with shockwave) at
http://www.burton.com Click on 'explore' and a screen will open with a map
on it that has the exact functionality that i am looking for.

I have tried writing all sorts of commands for it, i can get it to move a
specific number of pixels *ONCE* each time i rollover the button. I can not
get it to continue to get it to scroll slowly until i roll out though. As
far as i can figure, i cant use a loop because the screen isnt updated until
the loop completes(i dont understand why they did this, at least there
should be an option to make it behave differently, oh well:)

Well if any of you guys knows how to do this, or has time to figure it out,
i would very appreciative
Thanks, Jonny
