Hmmm - seem to have answered my own question - it seems that the movie clip

which I define as instance "middle" needs to be added to the page AFTER all

the button actions are defined??  Strangely that has fixed the problem - too

bad it has taken me all day to figure this out :-(


This list is very worthwhile - especially for a beginner such as myself!

Hi all,


I am trying to get a Tell Target working so that when I roll the mouse over

a button, an information box pops up describing what that topic is about.


For each of the eight buttons, I have:

- defined the up graphic, the over graphic and the hit zone

- converted to button symbol


On the page, I have:

- placed all eight buttons on one layer, along with a movie clip which will

be replaced by the info boxes

- attached tell target actions to each button so that on Roll Over, it

Begins Tell Target "/middle", and Go To and Play "x" where x is the

appropriate info box.

- placed a "mouseover" graphic over the whole canvas so I can define a

default info box


The strange part is that when I only had one button, everything was working

fine and then I added all the other buttons and now nothing works!  Any idea

what I can be doing wrong?   Has anyone ever seen corruption in a button

that might cause this?
