FLASH: A couple Newbie Questions

I have some quick quetions: First: I tried to try open

up a new page in a seperate frame which I click on a

flash button. I can not get the getURL command to work

at all, it just sits there at me and is asking why I

even bother.  and another problem I am haveing is

importing graphics in to a flash movie.  What format

should I have the picture in Adobe Photoshop to import

in to flash without any problems ?  Right now every

time I import a picture it ends up turning int oa red

square :(
