Hi Michael,
have you tried the downloaded plugin on a netscape browser too?
As far as i know plugins do only work correctly on netscape navigator
and communicators.
If you want to use ie4 you better try the activeX-control (which is installed
on your machine if you have a registered version of flash3 or 4 in the folder
"players". With the activeX-control its supposed to work fine with ie4
or 5,
at least i had this experience.

HTH,

Alex

You can do that with APPLE RemoteAccess 2.0

> Do I need to set up one of the macs as a server and buy some server software?

If you want to use TCP/IP (wich actually is faster) youd need a server software
that "shares" all the macs functions thru this protocol
(the professional choice here: VICOM Internet Gateway, around 200US$ or
IPnetRouter, Shareware price around 100US$).
If you want to use AppleShare as protocol, you CAN do it with
"TimbuktuPro 5.0"
(around 250US$) as well, if you want to "control" the other mac over the net,
i.e.
have all the same user rights then the owner
(ie. full control, copying, opening/closing prgs and so on...)
