Daniel. I feel the pain from here.
Have been searching technotes on MM's sites, and the only thing I can come
up with is this idea:
I have a beta 5.5 version of IE on my machine, and to date it has NOT pulled
data from my ASP/database/Personal Web Server. I just went to the "repair
shockwave" site at MM http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/main.html
to see what it would say, if anything, about your problem, since it was
recommended on their technote #13574. At any rate, this site AUTOMATICALLY
updates your shockwave files...no choice, no "are you sure" (which didn't
sit favorably with me) However!!!! It seems to have fixed my data access
problems.
I guess it wouldn't hurt to try it, since you aren't getting anything
anyway, but I sure wish they would ask first. <grin>
