Richard,
Glad I could help.
The info on the upper limit and much more about the internal workings of
Flash can be learnt from the Open Flash File Format Spec's Macromedia
published a long time ago.
(No I promise I won't say a word about the new Flash SDK nor will I
comment on how late it is )
This document is a must read if you're into serious Flash production.
This does not mean you have to read it to produce great Flash movies,
but if you're a programmer then it's a must.
As for the best website for flash information www.flash.com
(macromedia's site) is unbeatable. It has everything you will ever need
including links to other great sites with all the info.
