To move a button from one fla to another, open both and make sure each
fla's library window is open. Then drag the button from one fla to the
other. Any graphics, movies clips, or sounds associated with the button
will move right along with it.
I would think that the *easiest* method is to create the button in your
original fla. Just go to the Insert menu and choose New Symbol. When you
indicate that the new symbol is a button, Flash will set you up with a
fresh new timeline on which to design your button.
Sometimes though -- if you plan to create a new button or movie clip
that may be complex and will require a few drafts before you get it
right -- it makes good sense to design it in a separate fla and move it
over when done. It helps keep your library uncluttered of all your
drafts. :-)
