long winded reply....<snipped>
Hiya Judy,
Hey Im not a shrink and therefore wouldnt ever begin tell you how to run your life.
Everyone goes through hard times. Everyone pays the price to invest in themselves.
Its tough.
However the bottom line to the primary post was a reply of the blatently obvious
"something for nothing"
wishes of an ISP. The question was: would that profit the artist. My opinion from
experience, no.
I didnt proceed to reply to this post to analyze everyones idea of "pro-bono".
Pro-bono
means free of charge. That doesnt mean that cash _has_ to exchange hands. It could
be free advertising,
server space, etc, etc. It all depends on how much space how much advertising, how
much in return for how much your
going to work. I think it is pretty fair to say that ISP had absolutely nothing to
offer.
The professionals and great designers will lead the standard, because they'll get
the work and
not have to worry or have time for "pro-bono". I was simply trying to educate the
amateur on
what to look out for and how it effects the industry altogether. Ive really
already spent to much time than
its worth.
End of discussion.
The rest is simply your life's story, which needs to be on another list.
Sorry to everyone bothered by this thread.
