Subject: | Question: png files vs. jpg? |

Hiya Flashers,
Ive noticed that when importing several images in png format
that on export the .swf is twice as large as when I export the same images as bmp
from the Flash3 authoring enviroment. I was on the impression that when creating the
.swf format Flash exports anything non- vector as a jpg image.
I like the fact I can import png with the alpha channel option so I can get a smooth
vector
background painted in Flash, but its simply not worth the file size. Am I missing the
boat somewhere? Is there anyway to import an image with a transparent background
while keeping the size down. We all know how bad Flash's magic wand is, so selecting
and deleting background on each image is out the question. I would utimately like
transparent background.
Any suggestions or opinions most welcomed.
