True John, but I am planning on using transparent overlays as opposed to
mixing the colours, and it seems to be working. I plan on creating for example
12 separate overlays, one for each colour family, which can vary in opacity to
cover the entire colour wheel to show the effect of how laying a glaze of a
certain colour/s would effect the other colour families.

Obviously this is not to be taken as a serious method of colour theory as
without a palette knife and a set of paints, this does not make much sense, but
more as a general guide to teach the fundementals of using colour.

I want to be able to show the effects of adding colour glazes, changing the
background colour, using earth tones and greyscale to tone, and some general
colour theory and information about the colour families and the psychology of
colour.

I run a mailing list for decorative artists and one of the biggest obstacles
seems to be successfully using colour. I figured, if I can use flash to somehow
get the point across, it would be a good thing. No homage to Martha Stewart
intended ;-)
