Hi Alice,


                this is what I do-   first type the word or words,than

highlight them

and choose insert\create symbol from drop down menu and name the symbol.

After that right click on the new symbol you just created and choose edit from

the drop down menu.You can than animate the text.you will see layer1 with 1

single frame .Copy and paste the first frame about 10 frames over the frames in

between will be filled in

automatically-you might want to break apart the text and than regroup it again

instead

of using the original font before you do this.The text must be grouped for the

motion

tweening to work and the first frame and last frame must be comprised of the

same

symbol(your text)in other words a mirror image of the first frame.Next

highlight the last

frame and rescale the text to the size you want.Than right click on first frame

and choose properties from the drop down menu-set tweening to motion not

shape.A red arrow will than appear between the first and last frame .Go to

control and play to check the animation.You can then add as many frames in

between as you like.Just remember

your main movie has to have at least as many  frames as the symbol to play.
