I may be offbase here....but why is there an entry fee...and a steep oneat
that.

Again, people always investigate these "contests". A fee? Im not pointing
fingers
but artists must be careful how the invest their time and hard work. There
are plenty
of exposure possiblities online that dont cost a dime and get you plenty of
recognition.

If the headings say "contest: Whoever can design our company the best logo
wins!. We will also
pay you." Stray away from this type of "exposure". If a "contest" entry
costs a fee, investigate it thoroughly
before sending a dime. Remember you shouldnt have to pay to create, you
should get paid for creating,
whether it be recognition, exposure, money, etc. What are awards if you have
to pay for them?
that is if this is your profession.

A fee? Personally, I think Ill enter a sculpture into this contest titled
"All you can eat chinese food".
