Its true that a larger monitor may take longer to execute fast paced
Flash animations. This is especially true if they have a large monitor
and a standard graphics card. But, note, most web surfers have 14"
screens and run 640x480. People who have purchased computers in the last
several months are more likely to have a 15" Monitor which most of the
time will be set at 800x600. Large screen computer monitors 17" and up
probably make up aboutn 5 percent of sales of computer montors sales in
the US. Web surfers are only slightly more likely to have a larger
screen size than non-surfers.

AndyArt is a WebSite that is primarily for Web designers and thus you
should take that into account when reviewing his polls.
There are lots of surveys on the Web but few provide any real facts that
you can rely apon.
Unlike browser trends where we have good statistical data there is no
large scale testing of screen resolution that I know of. Also, this
testing would be limited to newer browsers and you can only infer what
size screen a user is using.
Usualy 640x480 means 14" or 15"
and 800x600 would be likely a 15" or 17".
Higher resolution indicate a 17" screen or larger.
