Since we seem to be having a paralel discussion in flash to the one I just

had in the trueSpace mailing list, I thought it a good idea to forward this

list of rules on to the flash list.  I think it would be a pretty good idea

if we follow these.  Substitute any ts or 3d related items for flash 3, of

course.

My usual post on mailing lists that probably never gets read by some but

obviously should be.  These are not in any order but some should read the

last rule!  These are to help us all get along better, a few members of the

TSML would either be kicked off or laughed off others lists for their

actions or comments that are made here.


I just wanted to mention a few guidelines for mailing lists that people

should follow.  Keep in mind that the TSML is in no way moderated by

Caligari or anyone else for that matter.


* posting messages not directly related to trueSpace or 3D should contain

[OT] or [OFF TOPIC] in the Subject line and should be kept to a minimum.


* attempt to describe your post as simply and clearly as possible in the

Subject line and modify it if the topic is changed considerably.


* pay close attention to who you are sending your reply to, if it is only of

interest to the person you are replying to - send it only to them and not to

the list.


* no "one liners" or "me too" posts, if you have nothing significant to add

don't reply.


* trim quoted messages to only include the part of the message you are

replying to and only include when it is necessary.


* try to include facts or information to support your message and not just

your personal opinion it is unless asked for.


* Internet users are from all over the world - please use common sense and

don't post controversial material and don't assume everyone knows "perfect"

English.


* typing in all uppercase letters is considered SHOUTING and should not be

used.


* many lists (including the TSML) post archive versions of the messages for

all to read,  please note that your message may be read at a later time by a

perspective employer - so be careful what you say.


* an e-mail "signature" should be 3-4 lines at most.


* Do Not use profanity or statements that others might consider offensive.


* Do Not send attachments or HTML encoded messages.
