Greetings,
We have a short Director work that the client wants to re-use it on web. It
is basically a voiceover introduction of a place. As the vocieover plays
different maps displays and animates (zoom in from the US to this specific
area of US). I'm evaluating 3 technologies (Shockwave Flash, Shockwave
Director, QuickTime) and to come up with a recommendation.
Both QuickTime and Shockwave Director can do very good sync but the file
sizes are too big (2-3MB). Since we have all the maps in Illustrator
format, I think I can make Flash version as small as 160K. (I have all the
graphics and audio imported but no animation (scaling, rotation) and it can
be comrpessed to ~150k.) I went thru the tutorial, samples, manual, but I
cannot figure out a way to sync voiceover with graphics. I need to have the
frame (still graphic) stay there until voiceover layer is done and it
continues to go to the next frame (or scene), or when the animation is
finished, it would stay at the end of the animation frame and wait for
voiceover to finish without going to the next sequence. How can I achieve
that, do I need to upgrade to Flash 3 to do that? Can I use CuePoint as I
can do sync in Director? If not, that's OK. I will just cut them into
multiple small segments if I can figure out a way to do what I describe above.
On compressing audio, should I import as 22/16 and let Flash compress it or
compress it first from SoundEdit 16? Does it make any difference?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Changhsu Liu
