IMHO, it is better to do this for reusability. I would say that it depends
upon where you plan on placing the navigation MCs, but I personally use it
to really only have to do that portion of the layout once.

When the timelines and MC's start getting trickier and there's a lot going
on, it's sometimes easier *for me* to label each MC and know that's been
taken care of.

Hope that makes sense coming from me...
