on my Mac, and Kevin Jackson isn't around to answer for me..

There are "CD Ripper" utilities that will do this for you.  I have one on 

another machine at another location that I use, but haven't used it in a 

while so I can't recall the name.


Just check the shareware/audio sites for CD Rippers.
