Just a quick check, but I guess this is what you are already doing,

The updatable textfield is in an an instance of a mc and you're

targeting the field correctly ?

Also check where the update for the text in the textfield occurs. You

can be resetting it's value. Try giving it a default non blank initial

value.

If this doesn't flush out the bug then try tracing what's going on.
