Subject: FLASH: Flash Banners
From: Brian Mays

I've been scouring the manual and looking for tutorials, but I can't seem to
find an answer to my problem.

We've created a Flash banner at work (our first one) and we're concerned about
the people who don't have the Flash plug-in. We used Flash 4 and used the
Publish option to also create an animated gif as an alternative. (The results
were unsatisfactory, and due to time constraints we took screen shots of the
Flash banner and ran them through Imageready to optimize them...more control
over which colors dropped out.)

What I've not been able to find anywhere is how to tell the user's browser to
call up the animated gif if no Flash plugin is found. We don't want the
customer paying for empty page impressions with broken links because there is
no plugin.

I've read many articles on how to do this for a SITE, but this is a BANNER
placed on an HTML site.

Any help here would be most appreciated.
