Alan,


In your main stage, create a new layer and call it fade. Place this layer at

the top. In this layer create a large box and fill it white. With the box

selected hit F8 (or maybe Control-F8 on PC, I'm not sure) to create a symbol.

Call this symbol white fade. Back in your stage, add a few frames and another

keyframe. In the first keyframe, select the symbol white fade and either

double click on it, hit Command/Control I , or go to Modify/Instance. Give it

a color effect of Alpha 0%.  As long as the second keyframe contains the

original symbol without an alpha effect (or alpha 100%) all you need to do is

give the first frame motion tweening.
