Oops... my mistake... forgot that you have to call the main timeline...
here's the revised code, for going to frames 5,6,7.

Create an MC called "timer" with these timeframe actions:
First frame:
Stop

Second frame:
Play
Set Variable: "stopped_time" = GetTimer

Third frame:
Set Variable: "current_time" = GetTimer
Set Variable: "time" = Int ( (current_time - stopped_time) /1000 )
If (time >= 5)
Begin Tell Target ("../")
Go to and Play (Random (3) + 5)
End Tell Target
End If

Fourth frame:
Goto and Play (3)

Put this MC in the first frame of your movie, give it an instance
("timer" will do) and add this action to the main timeline:

First frame:
Stop
Tell target ("timer")
Goto and Play (2)
End Tell target

Fifth frame:
Goto and Play (1)

Sixth frame:
Goto and Play (1)

Seventh frame:
Goto and Play (1)

That should do it.
