Actually, IE5/Mac added an accurate navigator.plugins array, so now that
browser can tell JavaScript what plugins it has installed.

That's distinct from script/plugin intercommunication, though, where the
script can control the player or the player can pass messages to the host's
scripting language.

The information in the original technote #4160 still holds.
