You could generate a random variable and then use a series of if statements
to send the play head to your marked frames. "if x=3, goto frame 8" etc.

Subject: FLASH: random problem

Does anyone know how to get the 'play head' to go to a random
label, i've got it to go to a random frame using

'go to and play (random (x))'
but this only works when the movie is published and not in the
stage in flash even when frame actions are turned on.

however i can't get it to go a random label.
I tried
go to and play "(random(x))"
where the labels are consecutive numbers up to (x-1)
but the head just jumps back to the start frame.

I've done it in director but this was using 'markers'

I am am a relatively new user of flash, and as a graphic
designer some of the programming issues are beyond my expertise so if
anyone could help i would appreciate it. I've searched the macromeia
site and there doesn't seem to be any info on this.

hope someone can help before i pull out all my hair.
