>From my experience only those elements which reside in the top level of a
flash piece appear in the gif animation whne you export. Movie clips will
not be "seen" in the gif as you found out. YOu need to copy frames from the
MC and place them in a layer in the main timeline.

Subject: FLASH: Problem exporting GIF animation

I have a file.fla that contains a movie clip that I would like to export as
an animated GIF. When I play the file.fla (Control > Play), the movie clip
does not appear. When I test the file.fla (Control > Test Movie) the movie
clip plays as it should.

When I export the file.fla as an animated gif, everything is present except
the movie clip.

What am I missing?

Thanks for helping a beginner.
Scott
