Loading movies (swfs) has the advantage that the swfs stream in, w/as MCs
need to be loaded before they will work. If they are small files that all
need to be seen, then MCs with a preloader are ok. If they are large files
that don't all need to be inplace for the file to work (ie sound or movie
files that the audience may or may not choose to load) then I would go with
swfs. I also use load movie when a particular element will be used in
multiple different swfs, or when I need to update a particular element more
frequently than the main swf.

A good example is a jukebox, where the audience might or might not choose to
play a song, if you load swfs with a data rate below the target data rate,
you can make the intitial load time of the jukebox much faster, and the
sounds will stream in when/if chosen.
