When you say symbols I'm guessing like technical gadgets? Or actual flash
goodies.. like FX?

If you want inspiration watch Mtv and FX channel if you can.. also read
Sci-Fi books for ideas.

I go with the 10 feature list... something I learned in college possibly
while intoxicated....

1. Mechanical ( Use of metals or industrial motivation )
2. Organic ( Use of Natural instance .... Leaves, trees, etc.. )
3. corporate ( the lobby look when you go into Nortel, IBM, etc. )
4. Artistic ( Read allot of hippy $hit , look at weird color schemes and
what not )
5. Motivational ( combination of vehicle and topic at hand ... i.e.. Train
blended with a RJ45 cable )
6. Inspirational ( Animals of a soft nature mixed with Cultural Scenes...
Dove flying into a watery Cd )
7. Technical ( very deep here... usage of keyboards, mice, Urls ghosted
back with a protractor..)
8. Playful ( use of sports / media elements )
9. WTF ness ( when you draw circles , boxes, triangles .. basic shapes to
form an object)
10. Spatial ( use of planetary or obscure objects with your corporation
to fit space )

hope this helps. ;)
