So how does the size of a jpeg file made with Flash's native jpeg
compression compare with a Fireworks compression, I don't have this
programme so can't check myself.

Can a percentage difference be demonstrated?

Thinking about this, why don't Flash & Fireworks both use the same
compression [algorithms]?
