Subject: FLASH: Flash Animation not linking to URLs the first time in a user session - why?

Hi all,

We are working on development of a intranet site and wanted to include an
animation that will serve as a side menu bar for the pages contained in the
site.

The HTML code that we use to load the animation is the following:

<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
codebase="http://active.macromedia.com/flash2/cabs/swflash.cab#version=4,0,0
,0" HEIGHT=280 WIDTH=119 >
<PARAM NAME="Movie" VALUE="/ART_EN/images/sidenav.swf">
<PARAM NAME="Src" VALUE="/ART_EN/images/sidenav.swf">
<PARAM NAME="Play" Value="true">
<PARAM NAME="Loop" Value="false">
<PARAM NAME="BGColor" Value="000000">
<PARAM NAME="Quality" Value="best">
<PARAM NAME="Scale" Value="Showall">
<PARAM NAME="SAlign" Value="L">
</OBJECT>

The animation loads, the mouseovers do their thing, but a strange thing
happens when clicking on the menu items. When the user has just started
his/her session, the links do not take the user to the designated URL. In
fact, the browser is not even attempting to change the location of the URL.

If, however, we issue a refresh command to the browser (either manually or
by choosing another page that contains the same navigator), the links to the
URLs begin to work and the browser is redirected to the new location.

So, we are certain that the links have been correctly built in to the
animation but are wondering why the first time through, they would not be
working.

BTW, this is all being done for an audience using IE 5 on PC platforms.

Is it possible we have done something wrong in our parameter tags above? Has
anybody had this happen to them before and managed to solve it?
