Subject: FLASH: VARIABLE QUESTION
From: mel hogan
Date: Wed, 7 Jun 2000 21:03:23 +0100

I want to get the value of a string in a series of variables all containing
the word DATE, but I only want to return the last 4 characters in the
string, how would I do this. Here is an example of the variables:

LINKONEDATEFILE = HB000504.SWF
LINKTWODATEFILE = HBOOO5O6.GIF
etc

what I need to do is return the .swf or .gif portion of the variable in
order to set a variable called TYPE in order to determine the type of file
currently being displayed so the TYPE variable can then be sent to a cgi to
build a postcard w/the graphic or .swf embedded in the postcard.

Help.
