Yeah, I hear you. I've had similar situations but different. I used to
take on projects to "finish" or "fix" something someone else started. I
always say I'll never do it again, but end up breaking my own rule
sometimes. The reason not to adopt someone else's project is that even if
you improve it--if it sucks it reflects badly on you. No one remembers that
you fixed it, just that it sucks. I've had people take my stuff and mess it
up. But you don't have to give THAT right away.
I suppose I like to finish projects so I have a portfolio piece. But when
someone does a revision and messes it up, it doesn't bother me unless they
leave my name in the credits.
This is why you should give money to the college from which you graduated.
It makes your degree remain valuable. No one's going to say "oh, you went
to xyz college--they used to be good". No, they'll say, "Oh you went to xyz
college, they ARE good." Does this have anything to do with the topic...
?
Okay, how about this for a change of topic: how many people insist and get
credits on every project they work on? I have lots of reasons why this is
important (probably more important than giving away the rights).
