I've done a lot of software development in C++,
VB and Delphi and I have given away source code
only very seldom, and only when compensated for
it, and with explicit wording in the contract against
redistribution.

Of course there are clients who will expect your
source without compensation, but it all boils down
to whether or not you're in business to make money.
Everyone knows the FLAs are valuable... We just
disagree about whether or not we should profit from
them.

I can respect the people who give them away, as I've
often done free work for clients (not free source, but
other free work), but I can't understand the people
who think they are worthless.
