This simple fact is, if you want to work on that site at work, you need to
copy the fonts files from the /windows/fonts folder with you. I have a lot
of experience with this. I have 400 fonts in my fonts folder, and 15,000 on
a cd that I created. Finding the fonts that you need is not difficult and it
will save you from problems in the future. Just remember, don't put more
that about 400 in your windows/fonts folder or you are destine for disaster,
swap fonts in and out as you need them.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah !!!!!!!!

ok ...i took the FLA from home to work, work pc didnt have home pc fonts,
so when i edited it the fonts were lost, and replaced by ARIAL. so you are
saying ...if @home i exported the fla to SWF and brought it to work, the
fonts would have been preserved ?

NOooooooo!!!!!!! That is not what you have to do at all. Tator, I thought
you got that straightened out a couple months ago! :-) Now, listen
carefully. ha ha ha

All fonts in regular text areas are saved along with your movie "Unless"
you
are using text-fields (the text with with the little abc button pushed
in...you know, the one that is a variable field.) IF you are talking about
the fonts used within the text-field (variable field) then you must simply
check "include all font outlines" and the Flash movie will take care of
them, as well.

In all other cases, the font outlines are automatically included with the
movie. There is NO need to break the text apart or make into symbols.
This
would be an un-needed bloat to your file size and would make it difficult
to
edit.

If you have any trouble with this, please let me take a look at your movie.
Thks!

(besides, turning the text into a symbol doesn't do anything to the font,
anyway.)

Another note, Michael. If you are authoring on a machine with a certain
font that another machine doesn't have, you cannot "edit the fla" on the
other machine. Then it will, in fact, lose the text editability. Once it
is an swf, it will keep its fonts. No matter where you play it. Honest.
Just watch the text-box "include all fonts" and you should be fine.
