Subject: | FLASH: Newbie: Coloring book theory or tutorials? |

I'm looking to make a FLASH coloring book for a friend. But I'm at a loss
as to how to begin. My first thoughts are sort of Directorish (from my 4.0
daze!)... have a color palette that chooses the color by setting a variable
depending on which color is chosen (hidden button over each color)... once
the color is chosen and the variable is set, the user would then click over
whichever part of the image he/she wanted to color. There would be a
"stack" of the same symbol, but different colors for each colorable
section. There would be a hidden button here that would set all colors
*not* chosen to invisible and the color that had been chosen to visible ..
this button would have an "if" script based on the previously chosen
color/variable.
Is this sensible or am I completely up a tree? If this is sensible I will
no doubt have a lot of other questions as to how to actually create the
thing, but right now I'm trying to figure out if this is the proper
approach.. For instance there might be a better approach that just sets the
color of *one* symbol through some actionscript I am unaware of?
Searches of the various FLASH sites did not seem to turn up any tutorials
on this. Pointers to specific tutorials would be appreciated...
Thanks....
