Think of it this way.
What is a preloader ?
For most people this is a word that blinks saying LOADING...
So, replace that blinking crap that with some information, web page
instructions, an upcoming event, show times, locations of product, short
prelude, etc... and the viewer will see and read that (while the movie
continues to load as fast as it can in the background) instead of the
watching the ever so boring and increasingly overused blinking "LOADING".
